I have owned my business for 31 years. Several years ago, I paid someone local to set up the domain. I have my website set up through Squarespace. The person passed several months ago, and GoDaddy will not give me access to the domain because his name is on it. I was paying with my CC, which just expired. My email is associated with the domain, and I am losing business. No one will help. I have every document with my tax ID and license.
