We have been a Godaddy customer for 20 years.In August 2024, we wished to downgrade from Dedicated Hosting to Maximum hosting to save from the cost of $2800 per 3 years to $800 per 3 years. Given our traffic volume, a Godaddy agent suggested the Maximum Hosting is more than enought. But the the agent also said the only way to downgrade from Dedicated Hosting to Maximum hosting was to purchase a new Maximum Hosting and migrate all my sites from the Dedicated Hosting. So we purchased a new Maximum Hosting from Godaddy and also paid for the migration fee. But after two weeks of trying, the Godaddy agent faild to migrate my sites successfully so all our connections would work. And we ended up canceling the Maximum Hosting and migration, and had to return to continuing the Dedicated Hosting. This then resulted in us paying for the renewal fee of the Dedicated Hosting $2800 in September 2024 for the next 3 years. But in November 2024, another Godaddy agent by accident revealed to us that we can downgrade the Dedicated Hosting to the Maximum Hosting with a simple push of a button in our account. We did, and everything in our sites moved instantly and successfully to the Maximum Hosting. Since then I have contacted Godaddy Billing to get reimbursed on the $2800 fee and to charge us for the $800 fee for the 3 years of hosting. Yet the Godaddy has given me two short notices that the reimbursement request is denied due to its policy. No other contacts or replies. Despite all our attempts to contact the Billing, it has not been reachable.Who is responsible here for the mistake here? All the actions we have taken are documented by the purchase and cancellation records. After using Godaddy for 20 years, I am resorting to posting this complaint online for all to see.

BEWARE - I'm not even a customer of GoDaddy and they're putting unauthorized charges (with no decent explanation) on my card. When I try to call the number, I can't get help because I'm not a customer!NOTE - the response this bot posted doesn't work. I was able to reach an agent on that page, and then was given complicated instructions about how to email someone. No, honey, you made the mistake, you should fix it.Discover Card has already fixed it. You can explain your fraudulent charge to them.

We received a bogus email stating that one of our domains would expire by January 2025 if we didn't pay them money. I called GoDaddy and was assured our domain on the server was safe. However, the website was subject to hacking or other damage. Scott described the protections GoDaddy offers to further protect domains and provide secure backup protections. We purchased the additional protections for our domain. Thank you Scott!
