I built three websites on Hostgator. The process from purchase (of domain, hosting), setting up websites, and maintaining these sites were quite straightforward and simple. I am happy with my experience with their user interface, system uptime and stability, and ease of maintenance.

Update to response.Absolute rubbish Gabriella. The billing section is blank and there is no facility available to do this as you’ve blocked the email access to the account also.Check with your colleagues first before leaving incorrect responses. One star now downgraded to zero.I rarely leave poor reviews but felt I had no other option here. The last 72 hours on their chat has been nothing short of suicidal. They seem to employ people who clearly don’t listen/follow your requests to read previous chat (thus saving time in repeating the same thing). All I am trying to do is reinstate my website and email. They ask me to place a payment on file (there already is one). To pay an outstanding invoice (there isn’t one) and then to fill in a form about changing my email (I don’t want to change my email). You’re left hanging for 5-10 minutes at a time on the chat and then given another useless piece of information. I cannot use my domain email so don’t respond to that one Hostgator as it DOESN’T WORK.

You get the support you pay for ...cheap as chips provider......On the 9th April my Domain and Email stopped working. It is now 20th April, my Email IS STILL NOT WORKING.I reported the Domain wasn't working, this was fixed several days later, but whoever fixed it didn't check my account was working as it should. I reported the the Email wasn't working in reply to the message that the Domain was working, expecting my problems to be bounced back to the Technical support team, but I was just put at the back of the queue again. All I get in response to my queries to the help desk is that the problem is being looked. This isn't rocket science, I can't understand why it's taking so long to fix. I did get a response via Twitter and sent of my details to compliance at Hostgator - no reply!!!I paid for four years email in advanced otherwise I would have gone to another company days ago, at this rate I'll have to anyway. I am now locked out of several apps and accounts as I can't verify who I am via email.
