I have experience with hosting companies (daddy, gator, etc) and Hostgator has been the easiest to work with and the fees are very reasonable. The only reason there aren't five stars is that their support bot had me in a tailspin for a while. Once I got to a live person, I accomplished what I wanted in 5 minutes.Almost forgot, the site layout is easier than some of the competition. There are a couple tricks. Once you've learned them, it's pretty easy.

I've been with Hostgator for the last 2 years. Their service is reliable and customer support has improved a lot during the past year. The only downside is their collaboration with Titan email which is not the best - their spam filters are not ideal, and I've gotten a lot of spam coming in as soon as I started using their email service.

So far I'm pretty happy with Hostgator. It was super easy to set up my website. There are a few quirks - things I can't customize, I'm limited on setting up tax rates for Canada (can only set 1 even though there are several), I can't set up shipping fees by item (only by weight or price) - but they are things I can live with for now. As I grow I hope these things will be improved on. Customer service is hard to reach if you lose access to your account (I wasn't receiving login verification codes via email) but once you find them support is good.

Price. I was with WIX for over a decade, but they kept raising the cost. I'm just trying to have a nice web presence, I'm not a big social media wheeler and dealer. I want something that looks nice and is easy to build.Hostgator's tools are simple and with proper layout can display a nice site cost effectively. There are some bells and whistles to their tools (layers, animation, timing) that I'd like to see, but NOT at an increase to price! I'm just fine paying what I'm paying.

Finally, a company that understands the importance of customer service and support. Can't beat their prices and features!
