The amount of spam phone calls from BS “marketing/design” companies that I get nearly daily from signing up for a domain Hostgator. And I even paid extra to not have my info shared. It’s been a year of these calls. DO NOT RECOMMEND USING Hostgator. It was a waste of money and a complete annoyance of unwanted phone calls.

****Advice of the year if you want to take down***** a competitor using Hostgator hosting, just report fake complaints to the Abuse team and watch Hostgator close their hosting for free.Yes, you can basically report fake abuse reports to any website and Hostgator will almost never investigate the legitimacy of the claim. Yes, you heard it right, once they have your money, you're basically at the mercy of incompetent and non professional people that don't bother to protect your assets if it could cause them some wrong. Fake DMCA reports from entities with no legal proof or legitimacy, no problem, if there is a risk from them, they will taken you down and good luck having more info because they do not disclose the complainant information neither offer you a way to counter notice their DMCA reports (which is illegal, but they don't care because they know we won't spend 1000's of dollars to save a 100$ hosting). Stay away from them and choose some company with less marketing budgetAnd for Gabriella, save your time, no need to copy pasting useless shh1t. I just hope that you find a better job soon because you deserve better. Have a great day.

My 2 stars do not refer to the product itself (I have a domain with Hostgator) but to the customer care system. If you do not need particular help, it is all fine but if you need to get in contact with them, 7 working days or even 1 working day can easily become weeks or months if you do not keep reminding them you are waiting for some help. I could not access my account anymore because the 2AF was not supported by my phone anymore and so I had to wait for more than a month to have this problem solved. Not being able to access my account, and so to the chat with experts, meant that the only mean of communication were emails managed by many different people with a lack of internal shared infomation resulting in asking for info already provided or telling me the info were not available while two days before they had already granted me the access. Customer care is really important when you deal with online services and if this bomes difficult, then you start to look if there are better providers.As my domain hasn't being effectively used by me for a website, I cannot say if there are practical problems or difficulties in using this product but I will certainly think about what it is better to do in terms of keeping the domain with Hostgator or moving it to another hosting provider. So, all things considered, I would strongly recommend Hostgator to improve the responding time and customer care efficiency when peopole, for any reasons, cannot access their account anymore and so cannot chat with Hostgator staff.
