Renewal cost for my domain was 54 USD. Google domains cost 12 USD. I have been using godaddy for over 20 years and their customer support refused to help in any way, offer a reduced price, allow me to extend for part of the year, etc. They basically did not care at all.

Beware of this company. Once you sign up they will never stop taking money. Cancelled last year and they are still stealing money from my bank account this year. Their "customer service rep" just laughed and said "you can try and take us to court if you like, but we have so many customers we don't care".

Then after calling him out, he said they just had to re-publish my site, which he had already done while talking to me. Then he continually added outrageous plans to my shopping cart. These are crooks.

Prior to this point, I've had a relatively mid view of GoDaddy. Don't get me wrong, they've been okay, but there's a lot for me to complain about. However, once in a while, you have an experience that is so positive it makes up for it.Today I had that experience with one of their support reps, Josh.I called in somewhat of a panic on a Saturday morning because our website appeared to be unexpectedly down/gone. Josh didn't waste time with scripts. He was quick, professional, and most importantly, capable. He quickly diagnosed the issue as a bad DNS update made automatically by the system, and was able to revert it in no time. Legit saved the day, and made it worth writing a review.Thanks Josh!
