I've been a customer of Hostgator for almost 4 years. Currently, I have a business plan with 6 websites hosted there. The support team replies very quickly most of the time (under 15 minutes), and they are always kind and helpful. Despite that, some support members go the extra mile to try to help you, while others just do their job. When they can't assist you anymore, they mention that they only provide hosting support. I'd love it if they could have some Dev specialists to guide you better or at least give you some tips.Recently, I had an issue with one of my sites where the Transbank WooCommerce Plugin Webpay Plus was unable to communicate with the payment gateway. Initially, they thought Cloudflare was interfering. I pointed DNS to Hostgator, but the issue persisted. Then they said it was a development issue and was beyond their support scope. I insisted and managed to clone the website on my friend's hosting, a very basic and humble hosting, where the payment was working fine. I proved to Hostgator that it's not a resource problem. My plan at Hostgator is probably 10 times more powerful than my friend's hosting. The plugin was okay. I contacted Transbank support, and everything was okay on their end. After making many changes (enabling, disabling plugins, cleaning cache, etc.), the issue persisted.I want to thank Marwa from Hostgator support who was with me until the end, helping me to solve this. Finally, I decided to move my server to a new data center location (from Singapore to the USA), and that change fixed the issue. I put the website behind Cloudflare, and everything is working fine so far.

I tried signing up for Hostgator and it didn’t work!!!! They charged me but not once did it work!!! I have tried to email them to get my money back and they have requested screenshots of the charge which I have sent and they still won’t reimburse me for the charge!!! They keep wanting more info! It’s just a run around!!! They said my email doesn’t show up as an account!! Which is the whole point of why I should get my money back. My account was charged and they won’t reimburse me even though clearly an account wasn’t set up when I purchased the plan!!! This is the WORST service!!!!!!!! And the responses are AI or something, instead of people.

I like the interface, I also like the website design, I even like the support team. What I don't like is my domain being flagged as abuse for containing the word "INFO", what an ironic abuse of the flagging system against someone wanting to share IT information on the internet. Considering the Internet was designed for "INFOmation" sharing I consider this flagging of my domain rather comical. For some reason when I connect to chat there is a TLS handshake with q.quora.com, which is a platform I have been prolifically trolled by... The support staff of this website are very helpful though and sorted the issue out, it was just a big head ache to sort out such a trivial issue in the first place.EDIT:I have since learnt why the word "INFO" was flagged. I have had an in depth discussion with the web sites support team and they communicated with the security team, they have provided me with good information. SO, so far so good :)

Worst hosting company.I waited 40 mins on chat for then someone to send me links to read articles that were not related to my issue. I then asked for someone to call me and this got refused. I then said I wanted to complain and then the agent ignored my request

Hostgator is a value for money, and my investments are secure. It helps me host a couple of websites with an easy-to-understand interface. And more importantly Support staff are readily available when you are stuck. I like the services of Hostgator the most.

I've recently purchased a higher plan from Hostgator and faced very bad customer support from the support team. We chose the plan for many reasons, and mainly, I see the free migration they mentioned in the plan.Based on that, I requested migration support from the team, and finally, they rejected my request and said they will support users who want to transfer the hosting from another hosting provider only.However, it is transferring from one hosting to another hosting. Thus, they rejected my request and informed me they would send tutorials to migrate it. Hence, migrating a website from Hostgator to Hostgator is more difficult than from another hosting. But they are ready to serve by getting additional dollars from us.Then I tried it and struck and again sought their support seriously. Because I backed up everything and deleted the website from the previous one(since it is a live site), they rejected the request again.The important thing I noticed and feel very bad about Hostgator is they are ready to help in migration by "paying some dollars dollars again" to them. I felt very bad that they treat users as ATM machine. I'm very much stressed in this situation because the live site has been deleted, and I'm not getting support to set it up ASAP.Finally, after one day only, I got help from my friend, and he fixed it in just 2 minutes.A brand can only grow only with customer satisfaction and fulfillment. Take Amazon as an example, it is a trillion-dollar company spread everywhere and succeeds only through customer satisfaction. Amazon spread everywhere, mostly by word of mouth, and just retaining it by advertisement or promotion.Instead of spending your money on advertisement everywhere, spend that money in customer support because most people who purchase hosting are not from technical background. If you provide complete support to your users, Hostgator platform will grow automatically without any advertisement cost.

DO NOT USE HostgatorI cant believe how many fake reviews there are on here! how can you say great customer service when they dont even have a phone line! they have a chat bot that is useless and then when you do get through to someone they are uselss and powerless to do anything but raise a support task that you cannot comment on, and that gets marked as "resolved" when they simply send you a link to the page you are having trouble with! And that is just the tip of the iceberg! I tried to transfer in several .com and .co.uk domains. They took payment for all of them, but only transferred in a 30%, the rest are "pending" and have been for a week! when i speak to them they just raise another task and nothing gets done! there is no one to speak to and the just simply dont care. And to top it off, they refuse to cancel the transfers, and the few the did transfer in I now cant transfer out for 60 days, so i am stuck with these ***** for the next 2 months!I have been a developer for over 10 years and have never experienced anything like this! the only reason i tried them out was because my old hosting provider has been sold to another company and is not as good as it has been for the last decadeDO NOT USE Hostgator

I purchased a plan on the 9th Jan. Today is the 19th. They have taken over 10 days to migrate the site /fix server side issues which still have not been resolved as we speak. The site has been down this entire time. Been pushed and shoved between 20 odd sales assistants all parroting the same copied and pasted responses who have no idea what the issue is because they couldn't be bothered to read the case notes. This meant I had to repeat myself back and forth over 67 emails but they never forwarded important information on to the relevant team which meant 10 days later i am still sat here with the same issue/same problem with nothing changed. They've wasted my time, caused massive stress and losses and will treat you with disdain. AVOID. DO NOT BE DUPED BY THE REVIEWS. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY, WASTE YOUR TIME AND THEN TAKE YOU FOR A RIDE.Edit: Do not be duped by Hostgator's reply. They're just words. They don't actually care or do anything to help. There's been no contact from them in regards this complaint. It's literally for "show" to save face on here. Your forced to deal with a cowboy live chat customer service and have no way of reaching management or complaints.. They have tried to sneakily close my ticket 5 or 6 times without fixing the issue. It's only when I ask for an update on now my 110th email (yes that's right) they reopen the case only to close it again. They've also tried to start a new email chain to make it look like a new issue and cover up the damning evidence of misconduct in our previous 100+ email chain. They also accidently handed over another clients information to me, and probably mine to someone else too. They did not even apologise or care that sensitive data was mishandled like this. Your information and personal data is not safe.NEW UPDATE**Today is the 4th Feb 2024. And after 400+ emails now, the issue hasn't been solved nor have I been contacted by the escalation team for feedback/review regarding this. I'm exhausted. You also have donuts working for customer service who don't read case notes and repeat irrelevant facts that have nothing to do with the current issue. Because they couldn't be bothered to look into things properly.

Hostgator can be interesting for the price, you can find good 4 years plan. Maybe the best offer on internet.But !The technical support and people working there are not good, they don't know your language and it's look like they don't have AI translator to help them to understand you hen you speak in your native language.They are also nto good for helping, they ask you to wait and give 0 answer, only FAQ links.I had a problem for few days, no one could help me. I spend time to talk to them, wait for them.I decided to think more about that problem and tried some things, and finally I fix it, it was not so difficult (for technical support) and I think they are just not good or didn't want to help.I'm still there for 3 years, I'm asking myself if it was a good idea because 3 full years with no help if I need some ... :'( I don't recommand them if you want a good technical support and after sales service, no good tech to help you with your business (and because it's business, I'm not sure the best deal is to use Hostgator just for low price).

Domain support with a live person is non-existent. You get AI generated messages. I had to lie about the issue to get to a live person, and that was on chat, not phone. Tried to access domain help again...just the AI run around. No support. Don't bother.

They might have good hosting, but the customer support made me resign from this service. I wanted to migrate my site from WordPress.com to .org. They told me that this is a very simple process and I just need to follow the guides. I ended up following different instructions as every person from the customer support had a different idea. After 2 weeks of installing things on my computer, following different processes which look like an error and trials Hostgator support told me that I needed to hire a developer at my own cost! That was bizarre. I spent 2 weeks around Christmas on my website and wasn’t able to do what I planned. I don’t recommend Hostgator as I think people should value your time and be capable of what they can offer.

Yesterday they said we were moving our server and when they turned on the system, OUR DATA WAS DELETED. OUR WEBSITE HAS BEEN CLOSED FOR 15 HOURS. They cannot find the data. We moved our e-commerce website to Hostgator about 4 months ago. Everything was normal in the first weeks. A few weeks later, we received letters saying that we were constantly exceeding our limits even though we had official records. Even though our software developer examined it, he could never find such data, and there was no such trace on his own panels. Then the server we were on gave an error and our family was closed. They said they wanted to move us to the Lithuanian server. Everything got worse. Customers could not shop. We became unable to work in the background. When we said these, they said to move to the next higher package and we moved to the highest package. Nothing got better. The website has become constantly experiencing momentary problems. Analytics data showed that there were 90 people on the site at the moment. In the morning hours of 23.01.204, the site became very heavy. We communicated through the chat section. They told us that we should move the server again and we said that the migration should start at 03:30 in the afternoon. They told us that it will take 4 hours and your site will not be closed. At 9:20 in the evening, they suddenly closed our site and the screen below remained. They made us lose turnover all day. They never answer from the chat section. They started the process, which should have started at 3 in the afternoon, at 9 in the evening without getting our approval. They did not even print it during maintenance work on our website. It is now 00:00 at night and they never make a statement. When they opened the system, our data was lost. The system was opened in a different time zone during the day and our orders were deleted. We embarrassed our customers and lost money. This company is a complete mistake. They will make you lose reputation and money. If you are going to open a site or are looking for a server, find another company.Yes here is the END: AFTER 24 HOUR THEY SA?D WE LOST YOUR DATA: THEY MADE LOSE 2 DAY ENDORSEMENT and they only said we will give you 2 month promotion. I LOST 2 DAY they only said 44 dollar. You are so funny. You will never use that hosting platform. THEY ARE WORST i have ever seenYou are a terrible company. Everyone should read this comment. You are a company that causes hundreds of thousands of dollars of loss to the company that does not do its job enough to delete and lose the file you took a backup of. You shamelessly say let's give 40 dollars and 2 bears as a gift. Even a few people will read this comment and refuse to work with a disgraceful company like you.

Terrible customer service. Nobody is there on live chat to assist you if you want a refund but if you want to make a payment suddenly someone is there to assist you. I got hacked and someone purchased domains with my account when I requested for a refund I was told its no possible I have to keep them. Which makes me wonder whether it was a Hostgator staff member or not. If you buy any product from them by best believe there is no refund even if it's error. Horrendous experience!
