The support at Hostgator is a joke. It might be ok that they ONLY offer a "live-chat" function IF (and none of these are things they do):1) The representatives knew what they were actually talking about/could actually provide any support.2) The representatives could speak/understand English fluently enough to actually have a technical conversation.3) Their systems weren't constantly experiencing glitches and problems.4) The representatives would answer the chat in LESS THAN 54 minutes!!!!!! (UPDATE: it was actually over an hour before someone came on the chat line, and I was on the chat line trying to get a problem fixed for 6 HOURS... seriously)On average, it takes about an hour to get anyone on the chat. Even once you do, it OFTEN takes 30-40 minutes between responses.This isn't support, this is torture. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!!UPDATE: While I'm glad to see that Hostgator did promptly reply to this review, it seems to be fairly "boilerplate" and void of any actual itemized initiative to make any changes or acknowledge that these problems do in fact exist. I'll update again if anything actually changes, but for now I'm pretty sick of hearing "your feedback is valuable" but never seeing any movement towards fixing these issues.

I bought a hosting for my WP site with heavy trafic, the moment i logged in findout, the services are not what they are saying on the landing page, super slow and poor support, I asked for a refund which they did with a wrong CVV2 so the money couldnt come back, when i asked in the support they said its already refunded, IF they are doing this for $22 i am sure this company needs to find another business. Poor support, Poor services.

Worst Service Experience EverAll my work is delayed, for 3-4 months Hostgator is not able to solve my issue, They are not fixing or refunding my money so that i can start with another hosting provider. I am not able to extract any zip file, or upload any file to the server, even FTP is also not working....and they just say all the time, we are woking on you ticket, i don't know how long it will take and i am losing my clients and business due to this kind of worst support! I you want to grow then don't choose the Hostgator.I am using cloud enterprises and not running the system.Every time they will ask you to upgrade the system or go for a higher option. I paid a lot of money to them and fed up with their chat.Yesterday I have upgraded the service and today is not working when I asked them (Vania) what the issue they said to go for the higher option.

Whilst researching which provider to switch to I asked these guys about migrating over and down time via chat was told they take care of it all and there is no down time (THIS IS NOT THE CASE THEY DO NOT DO IT FOR YOU - THEY LIED TO ME)The process is you enter details the system picks that up you have to do the pointing etc, I have a few sites and for all bar two it worked fine one is my main one which is why I am so disappointed. So it comes up tells you to point it during this time it went down yesterday for a short while then today it was showing an error on DNS I reached out to support they done something with A records and then the site went down completely.From this point I have had to go to the domain host for it to be reset which can take upto 48 hours and then point it to the old provider meaning more down time then have to come back to these well that wont be happening.I have wasted so much time this weekend moving everything over and I wish I just stayed with Siteground, the only reason I was transfering was prices which was about half but Siteground do have more features and its faster but it is more expensive.In summary;I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AS THEY GOT MY BUSINESS BASED ON A LIE, NOW MY SITE IS DOWN AND I AM LOOSING £XXX as well as losing customers who will go to competition.DO NOT RISK YOUR BUSINESS DO NOT SWITCHAlmost one week on no one has bothered to answer my question it’s not the guys fault dealing with things they are amazing it’s the above.INACURATE REPRESENTATION ?????? REVIEWS: People are bribed by hosting to leave a review and offered 2 weeks hosting which they add into your plan costing them pennies but makes the company look great. Filter down to below 3 star and see to reviews from people who have tried to resolve issues. Such a shame.In final point to the review - Customer service have took a week chasing something which we knew the answer to 5 days ago as they have got lost off passing things around to each other. Dont waste your time with these.

Since 2003 I had been using another provider (the most famous in Italy), last year I switched to Hostgator and now life is easier. I don't give 5 stars because for some important settings you need a VPS.But the sites are very fast, and the possibility of choosing the server from various areas in the world makes everything very efficient. Furthermore, assistance is fast and, apart from a few exceptions, the operators immediately understand the problem and help you solve it.The possibility of having a streaming package is missing, which for me would be very useful.PROWell-made control panel with intuitive interfaceability to transfer sites from old providers easilyfast and prepared support teamcompetitive hosting pricesCONSYou must know English for assistance.MySQL settings and in general not all parameters are controllable (e.g. you cannot restart your web service).Lack of a streaming service.Prices of .it domains (and geographical domains in general) are higher than in Italy.

Terrible support system, there is no way to reach anyone outside of support chat system. They make you go via knowledge base before talking to AI computer system. Afterwards I was on hold for 30 minutes before getting an actual person. The support team has very limited knowledge or maybe access to issues that maybe going on on your server. Support will submit your issue to another dept where you still have to wait for a response. This is very frustrating. GET A SUPPORT TICKET SYSTEM AND SUPPORT TEAM WHO CAN SOLVE ISSUES WITHOUT THE WAIT

Hostgator is a scam service, they receive your money, cancel your hosting plan without any refund as they run ads. They will tell you they already transfer fund to 3rd party and you must wait for them. So they have no responsibility to recover your hosting plan anymore, also your fund is not at their wallet anymore. There is no deadline to receive info from their 3rd party. So you will lose your money forever. This is actually a scam service.

I've been a customer of Hostgator for almost 4 years. Currently, I have a business plan with 6 websites hosted there. The support team replies very quickly most of the time (under 15 minutes), and they are always kind and helpful. Despite that, some support members go the extra mile to try to help you, while others just do their job. When they can't assist you anymore, they mention that they only provide hosting support. I'd love it if they could have some Dev specialists to guide you better or at least give you some tips.Recently, I had an issue with one of my sites where the Transbank WooCommerce Plugin Webpay Plus was unable to communicate with the payment gateway. Initially, they thought Cloudflare was interfering. I pointed DNS to Hostgator, but the issue persisted. Then they said it was a development issue and was beyond their support scope. I insisted and managed to clone the website on my friend's hosting, a very basic and humble hosting, where the payment was working fine. I proved to Hostgator that it's not a resource problem. My plan at Hostgator is probably 10 times more powerful than my friend's hosting. The plugin was okay. I contacted Transbank support, and everything was okay on their end. After making many changes (enabling, disabling plugins, cleaning cache, etc.), the issue persisted.I want to thank Marwa from Hostgator support who was with me until the end, helping me to solve this. Finally, I decided to move my server to a new data center location (from Singapore to the USA), and that change fixed the issue. I put the website behind Cloudflare, and everything is working fine so far.

I tried signing up for Hostgator and it didn’t work!!!! They charged me but not once did it work!!! I have tried to email them to get my money back and they have requested screenshots of the charge which I have sent and they still won’t reimburse me for the charge!!! They keep wanting more info! It’s just a run around!!! They said my email doesn’t show up as an account!! Which is the whole point of why I should get my money back. My account was charged and they won’t reimburse me even though clearly an account wasn’t set up when I purchased the plan!!! This is the WORST service!!!!!!!! And the responses are AI or something, instead of people.

I like the interface, I also like the website design, I even like the support team. What I don't like is my domain being flagged as abuse for containing the word "INFO", what an ironic abuse of the flagging system against someone wanting to share IT information on the internet. Considering the Internet was designed for "INFOmation" sharing I consider this flagging of my domain rather comical. For some reason when I connect to chat there is a TLS handshake with q.quora.com, which is a platform I have been prolifically trolled by... The support staff of this website are very helpful though and sorted the issue out, it was just a big head ache to sort out such a trivial issue in the first place.EDIT:I have since learnt why the word "INFO" was flagged. I have had an in depth discussion with the web sites support team and they communicated with the security team, they have provided me with good information. SO, so far so good :)
