I used to think Big Rock was a reputable and customer-friendly company — well, not so much. When they lower the prices of their hosting plans, existing customers are left stuck paying the original, higher rates. If you ask them to match the new pricing on your current plan, they’ll suggest signing up for a new plan and doing a manual migration — seriously?Their pricing page also contains misleading phrasing like:“US$ 4.99/mo for 24-month term” and“Renews at US$ 8.99/mo for 2 years. Cancel anytime.”Properly worded in English, that should read:“US$ 4.99/mo with a 24-month term” and“Renews at US$ 8.99/mo after 2 years.”As it stands, the wording is ambiguous and can easily mislead customers. In my case, choosing monthly billing led to me being charged twice the amount I paid for the first month — no clear warning given.Worse, if you try switching from monthly billing to a longer term (12 or 24 months), you won’t get the discounted rate you originally signed up with. Instead, you’ll be offered a higher price — in my case, $9.99/month instead of the original $6.99/month.And when you reach out to customer support to resolve it? The default response is, “There’s nothing I can do. You can start a new plan and migrate manually.” Great customer treatment, right?
