If you value your time, effort, and business, DO NOT TRUST Hostgator! This company has ruined everything I worked for. I’ve been a Hostgator user for over a year, and it’s been the most troublesome and unreliable experience ever. Let me share my story so no one else suffers as I did.I bought a domain, varsityjacketmaker.com, just a month ago to start building my website. The site barely had any content — all dummy placeholders — because I was just getting started. Out of nowhere, my domain was suspended without any notice! Hostgator then had the audacity to suspend all my other working websites, teamjacketshop.com and realleatherbag.com, dragging my entire business down with it.When I contacted them, they claimed there were "abuse reports" on my domain. Abuse reports? For a brand-new domain with nothing on it? It’s ridiculous! They asked me for ID, bills, and registration numbers — information that’s irrelevant when you’re just starting out and don’t need to register a new business immediately.I did everything they asked. I even rushed to register my domain urgently and submitted the documents. Still, they continued to ignore me! After 17 hours, I got an email claiming there were reports on unrelated domains like teamjacketshop.com and varsity.varsityjacketmaker.com. Hostgator’s so-called support team stopped responding after that. My websites remain down, unindexed, and flagged as dangerous. My business is in shambles because of this incompetent and unreliable company.Their cheap hosting comes with useless, cheap customer service. Their support team doesn’t care, and they take weeks to respond while your business is destroyed. They suspend accounts without notice, provide no solutions, and treat customers like dirt.I wish I were in the US to file a strong legal case against this shady, unreliable company. Hostgator has no respect for their customers’ hard work, and all the glowing reviews you see online? They’re paid lies. Nobody tells the truth about how this company ruins businesses.I’ve now started my blog, HostgatorRealReview.com, to expose the truth about Hostgator’s fraudulent practices. Imagine putting in 24 hours and years of hard work to build your business, only for Hostgator to suspend your account and delete your website without explanation.DO NOT USE Hostgator.Save yourself the heartbreak, wasted time, and money. Choose a hosting provider that actually cares about its customers and their businesses. Stay as far away from Hostgator as possible.

If I could give this company a zero, I would. I started trying to set up a domain three days ago but kept getting refused because the word "bank" is in my last name. As a result, the company flagged my account. After sending three different documents to prove that "bank" is indeed my last name, it seemed to be okay. However, they flagged it again and canceled my account. Meanwhile, they charged my credit card, which ended up getting locked. I'm still waiting for several refunds to come through. It's been an extremely frustrating experience, and it’s clear that the company is unable to resolve the issue. I will move on to a company that wants to work with me.

TERRIBLE! Got cheated, after so many years of being their customer!First, Hostgator charged me TWICE for a yearly domain payment, then, they decided to keep the second amount, for next payments they said!When I complaint to the bank, they refunded one payment, BUT they kept the other payment and cancelled my account! And now, after paying for over 7 years, my website has been cancelled. Well, they will loose customers like this, a host needs to be reliable, specially when it comes to payment issues and refunding your money properly. They can't just keep your money and cancel your service! Terrible, I don't recomend it at all!Now they have sent me a repayment link and they have raised the bill 12 dollars extra just because they can…I have no words…maybe just….Move on to another host!

We’ve been loyal Hostgator customers for two years, running a shop selling Bitcoin-related items. Without any warning or prior notice, Hostgator suspended both our domain and webspace, accusing us of fraudulent activity. These accusations are baseless and unfounded, with no evidence provided. They didn’t even specify the issue—just a vague, blanket claim of fraud.This unjustified suspension has caused major disruption to our business. We can’t process orders, respond to customer inquiries, or access our data in any way. Despite providing all requested documents, we’ve received no response in over 48 hours. To make matters worse, we can’t even move to another hosting provider because Hostgator is holding our database, website, and domain hostage.While Bitcoin innovation is celebrated in the US, the EU seems to penalize crypto businesses simply for existing. If you value reliability and professionalism, stay far away from Hostgator. Their lack of transparency, customer support, and respect for their clients is utterly unacceptable.Update 06.01.2025:Support initially claimed the suspension was due to fraud, and now you're saying it's because of GDPR abuse. Yet, we still haven’t received any explanation of what specific “abuse” we’re being accused of. It sounds just like made up reasons to suspend a Bitcoin business.The lack of transparency and customer service is absolutely ridiculous. Reviewing three documents has now taken over 72 hours, which is unacceptable. The incompetence displayed by the support staff involved is staggering, and this mishandling is causing our business to suffer losses of thousands of euros per day.This matter is clearly not being handled with the urgency and priority it demands. As a result, we have engaged legal assistance as of today to evaluate potential steps for seeking compensation.

I contacted this company on 18th Dec 2024 as they were hosting a scam website that was taking large sums of money from the general public for home appliances. I was advised to report via their abuse proceedure, but they wouldn't take the site down or suspend without tons of evidence from me, which was already out there on multiple review sites. Hundreds more people over christmas bought more items they never received, very irresponsible hosting company to allow this to continue.I note now (10th January 2025) that my anti virus package is suspect of this scam website and will not allow me to connect. I hope this is the case for many other people attempting to buy goods from lifestylehomeapplicances.com UPDATE 18th Jan 2025The site is still up and running and many other domain names have been purchased by these scammers which link to this sitelifestyle appliances yorkshire ltd.co.ukbuy home appliances.co.ukhome appliance warehouse.co.uk.Look at all the reviews on trust pilot dated in the last wek for lifestylehomeapplianes.com. I tried to stop poor innocent people buying christmas presents and being scammed, but you wouldn't listen.I have now reported this to a well known consumer clinic run by the BBC

it's the worst hosting provider ever!!they suspend 2 of my website for no reason! and they refuse to unsuspend it! and i do have 2 more years in my plan and they refuse to refund it!Don't use it they are the worst

I really liked them in the beginning. Easy to use and inexpensive. Then, stuff stopped working. Hostgator Support is absoultely awful - and that's being kind. Their techs get into the problem about halfway and then start all over again at square one, then transfer you to another tech. I am done with them. Good luck.

Pathetic service, if you have another option, never buy anything from Hostgator. They have the most incompetent and immature team members in the hosting domain I talked ever about.Do not fall for their cheap pricing, they are cheap by service too. Pay a little more to others, that will be worth it.They can suspend your hosting service just because one of your competitors complained that you're promoting something wrong.They can suspend your domain name just because your address is wrong and without any message or notification.When you have any issue with your hosting or domain, their team members hardly going to help you, maybe they are not capable.They may ask for your details, personal identity, and address proof for every new domain you are going to buy. You're seeing their positive reviews on Trust Pilot just because their customer care team asks their users to review them on Trust Pilot.

NOTHING WENT WRONG. I have not yet had enough experience to write about. Give me a minimum of six months.

I host a few sites with Hostgator. For each site I use SSI's (Server Side Includes), for common code, such as Header, Nav and Footer, so it's easy to change all pages sitewide. Most pages work fine, but some pages have an error loading the SSI's ("an error occurred while processing this directive"). As an experiment, I changed the filename of some pages that were not working to a shorter version and they then worked. I raised this with Hostgator on 10/1/25 and they took 5 days to resolve the issue. One response from them ask me to look into missing files...but these were the very files that should be included using the SSI. That didn't inspire me with confidence.I've had webchats each day since the issue, with different people, asking them for progress. They didn't tell me anything other than it was "a very technical issue. The one thing they had in common is just how slow they are at responding.

I Talked to cusomer service person name Alexis I needed very easy help because it was emergency that I needed. he made me submit personal info and cc and everything just to tell me thanks , our team will review it and it can take couple days .. he even started texting me something completly off and told me later " ignore this, this is not for you"

I had a VPS account for five years, never really used it for anything production, mostly development and testing. We started bringing online some production resources for our business, a CRM, a webmail, a customer portal, a live web site. A month later, without warning, They shut whole thing down and falsely called it "phishing" and continue to hold the months of development data hostage. There is no support, just an automated AI chat bot. I provided documentation about the business registration, IRS FEIN, banking, merchant processing for the business, ID, etc. I lost months of development work, had to have all that rewritten. I would never use this provider for anything serious, you will lose your data and hard work.

We have now waited days for the unsuspension of adultagencyads.com after they promised to do that yesterday and the site has still not been unsuspended. They suspend your site over alleged abuse, and when that is sorted, they have no respect for maintaining good business relations with your clients but getting your site back online in a timely manner.

I am very satisfied with the Hostgator platform! The support team is excellent – they always help to resolve issues quickly, ensuring smooth operations.The only suggestion I would make is to consider creating an automated feature that allows websites built with the Hostgator Website Builder to be transferred to separate accounts. Currently, transferring websites has to be done manually, which can take a lot of time and effort.Overall, Hostgator is a great platform that I highly recommend!
