If you're looking to host just one website, Hostgator might be a decent choice. However, as an agency owner myself, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere if you need a reliable agency solution.Today, we received an email notifying us that one of our cloud servers would be changing its IP address. While I understand that such changes can happen, I promptly adjusted the A records for our clients whose DNS is not managed by Hostgator. But just 4-5 hours later, Hostgator sent another email claiming that they were not, in fact, changing the IP address and that we could continue using the current one.When I replied, pointing out that it’s unprofessional to send conflicting information like that, I tried to reach out to their support team. Instead of addressing my concern, their AI assistant, Kodee, went off on a completely different topic. What a joke! ??It’s clear that Hostgator is cutting corners on support. They bloat each WordPress installation with multiple plugins of their own, one of which is a very poor AI assistant that fails to provide relevant help. This adds unnecessary complexity and frustration to the user experience.We have more than 10 cloud servers with Hostgator and we pay a substantial amount for their services. However, this experience has been frustrating enough for us to decide to retire Hostgator from our agency's hosting solutions. It's time we host on our own infrastructure instead.

I would give 0 if I could. They only treat you well till you open an account. Then they don't. Offer you a bit discount in the beginning, then the prices are far too expensive. If you use a discount coupon and have a new plan, then they ask you to manually move the sites even if it was on the same plan. Even the condition of the purchase states that free migration. They do it because they just want to charge you a lot. Their customer service has always been awful. Charging me for a domain that I set as no renewal and many other stuff... I just did not have time to move my websites but I need to do it. They don't deserve long-term customers. Also good luck with the chat helpline. The human ones are worse than AI. They reply every 6-10 minutes. So, after 40 minutes, you still end up with no solution.

Please stay away from Hostgator! A class action law suit needs to be filed against them due to their scammy culture and money hungry practices. I had to threaten them with a lawsuit to get refunded my money after just one day of subscribing to them. The absolute worst!UPDATE:Hostgator is trying to get me to change my review. Do yourself a favor and stay away. This company can't hide their shady practices for too long before people start to see them for who they are. Too many people are saying the same thing. Do your research!

I just finished a chat with their customer service, and aside from the courtesy, I had a terrible experience. I transferred my domain from another provider, and once the transfer was completed, since it had expired, they asked me for a fee of 20+VAT to regain possession of my domain; otherwise, I would have lost it permanently. Thank you, Hostgator.

It's only 500 hundred products added maximum. This is madness. I have the top plan but it's not working. Also, I was talking to the customer service. They said they wouldn't help with this issue. Just think about it, you set up a website, do all the planning and editing, and then you can only add 500 products. What a disappointment.

The beginning of the service was rather informative as a bot generically answered my questions. But a human assistant had replaced the bot as I needed my specific answers. I am sad to report that I am not completely happy with Hostgator as I was prevented from getting to get access to the features of the PREMIUM pack in 2021 and was informed that I was not eligible for refund.

The service/support has been insanely frustrating and difficult. It's been 4 weeks and they cannot migrate my website. It would take me days to try and summarize the frustration with speaking with support literally every day, for 4 weeks to try and sort things out. I have provided FTP access, GCP access, Wordpress access, iPage dashboard access, sent files, included database, and been on email and chat with support every day for 4 weeks (for hours at a time). Response: Yes, support requested SSH keys (which is insane to ask for from a novice user, given the average person does not understand these things & I've given support full GCP access). I went ahead and provided the SSH key to support and they failed, again! I then had to pay someone to get the files and database for me (a cost I shouldn't have incurred) and support failed at that, AGAIN! They then asked me to provide the files in a compressed format, so I took the time and effort to compress them and reload them to Dropbox. I am assuming they will fail, AGAIN!Another update: Hostgator finally got the website up but 52GB of files was taking up 333GB of my space. Support told me to delete all of the files and have them start over (I should have known this was a terrible idea). They started over and 3 days later, told me that the files (which were used for the exact same upload that worked perfectly, 24 hours prior), we're corrupt and they couldn't make it work. Now my website is down again and we're going on 5 weeks of Hostgator failing to get a single website working. It's clear that they're just messing with me at this point. I've never encountered a company this terrible at anything.
