GOT GOOD SUPPORT FROM SUPPORT TEAM

The AI Kodee was okay, but couldn't fix the issue and got stuck into a loop, but when I requested a supervisor, Shifa arrived to the chat, the problem was fixed quickly and efficiently.

Hostgator made the process of migration from another hosting provider easy. The only difficulties I experienced came from not understanding the process clearly up front. My first attempt at the transition caused problems because I did it wrong. Hostgator helped me correct this. Then the process went quickly and smoothly, as it did on the second website transfer.

I’ve had a terrible experience with the migration process. I’ve chatted with various people online, asking one simple question, and it took at least 30 minutes for them to respond each time. I stayed up until almost 1 am trying to resolve the issue and couldn't, then woke up the next morning to continue, only to receive completely different instructions. I’ve wasted 7 hours chatting with them, and despite all the time spent, my website is still down. Their customer support is absolutely awful—they aren’t taking any real action to help resolve the issue. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences I've had with a hosting provider stay away from them.

I purchased a high-tier package from Hostgator, but I couldn’t get the promised speed and connection quality. I’m constantly experiencing interruptions and slowness. I’ve reached out to customer service multiple times and explained my issue in detail, but unfortunately, they’ve been unresponsive and unhelpful. Despite paying for a premium package, dealing with these problems has left me very frustrated. I’m not getting my money’s worth, and I don’t want others to go through the same thing. I got burned—don’t let it happen to you. I condemn Hostgator’s irresponsible attitude and expect a solution as soon as possible!

my websites have been down for the past 1 week. Every time I wanted to get some support, the AI wanted to sell me a service to check the website. If someone gets connected, it takes ages to send an automated reply. Just wasting my time and losing my business. Don't move with those guys. I will make my complaint to Ofcom about this. Also their security is horrible every month some random account gets access of my google search console by verifying HTML is this a JOKE or what???

I am very dissatisfied with Hostgator's services. Their approach to customer rights is highly unprofessional and unethical.I purchased web hosting and a domain from them on March 18, 2024, for my website LannisterConsultants.com. Auto-renewal was on, but the payment method had no funds. I manually renewed my domain two weeks before the expiration date using a different card at checkout. However, I did not save this card as my payment method, as I planned to switch to a more cost-effective hosting provider like Bluehost.Shockingly, two days later, Hostgator automatically added that card as my primary payment method and charged me for web hosting without my authorization. When I contacted their support team, they acknowledged that I was eligible for a refund but informed me that requesting a refund would result in immediate termination of my hosting, deleting all my website data—even though a week was left on my subscription. This left me with no choice but to continue with their service to avoid losing my website data. This is an extremely deceptive and unfair practice. I strongly advise others to be cautious before using Hostgator.

I get your frustration—when Hostgator company makes the refund process unnecessarily difficult, it feels like they're trying to wear you down so you give up.

Flexible hosting plans. My emails are working 99.9% of the time.

The website was alright overall, but there were a couple of issues that stood out. The biggest problem was the lack of clear explanations about the content of each product and what’s included in the price. This made it a bit confusing to understand exactly what I was getting. Additionally, the site doesn’t warn you before performing irreversible actions, which can be frustrating. That said, the best part of my experience was the excellent and kind customer support from Sheneyska. She was incredibly helpful and made the process much smoother. If it weren’t for her, my experience would have been much worse.

one day they start to charge me for a lot of different domains until i remove the credit card from the website, they said it was somebody to hack my account. them they block emails account from my account because they said it has been used to send spam, now the suspend one of my domains because they believe it was a fake shop. Technical support is the worst you start an email, and you will receive a response from 10 or more different persons, and you have to explain over and over again every time what is going on.... and days after that there is no solution and again you have to explain every day to a different person what you sent in the first email.....

i Changed my mind about VPS, shifted to another cloud provider and asked for refund and the amount was transferred directly no questions asked. one downside though which is common with most providers is the technical support for unmanaged hosting, i believe it has room for improvement.

### Updated Summary of the Report for Presentation to Trustpilot Moderators#### OverviewThis report analyzes reviews of Hostgator on Trustpilot to identify potential signs of fake reviews, unusual review patterns, and feedback suggesting review manipulation. The analysis is based on Hostgator's review on Trustpilot The current date is March 29, 2025. The findings suggest that Hostgator’s actions may be undermining Trustpilot’s credibility, and we urge a thorough investigation into their practices.#### Key Findings1. **Evidence of Fake Reviews**: - Reports from [Online Media Masters](onlinemediamasters . com/Hostgator-review/) (2025) and [Review Signal Blog](reviewsignal . com/blog/2017/12/06/Hostgators-fake-reviews-a-guide-on-how-not-to-promote-your-company/) (2017) indicate Hostgator has used fake reviews. Employees and brand ambassadors have allegedly posted positive reviews to inflate the company’s 4.7/5 rating (87% 5-star reviews). - The CEO of Hostgator reportedly defended this practice, raising ethical concerns ([Review Signal Blog, 2018](reviewsignal . com/blog/2018/07/22/Hostgator-review-0-stars-for-lack-of-ethics/)).2. **Unusual Review Patterns**: - Analysis of the provided documents shows instances where 1-star reviews are quickly followed by 5-star reviews (e.g., a 1-star review 18 hours ago followed by a 5-star review 12 hours ago, a 6-hour gap). This suggests potential manipulation to offset negative feedback. - On Trustpilot page 2, a sequence of 5-star, 1-star, 1-star, 5-star reviews indicates possible insertion of positive reviews after negative ones.3. **Feedback on Review Manipulation**: - Users on [Reddit](reddit . com/r/webhosting/comments/7i1cdi/warning_dont_trust_Hostgators_reviews/) (2017) and [Quora](quora . com/Is-Hostgator-safe-Are-Hostgator-reviews-fake-or-not) warn against trusting Hostgator’s reviews, citing manipulation. - Complaints on [Sitejabber](sitejabber . com/reviews/Hostgator.com) about unauthorized charges align with 1-star Trustpilot reviews, suggesting genuine issues may be buried under fake positive feedback.4. **Suspicious Timeline**: - Assuming the PDFs were generated at 22:26 on March 29, 2025, a 1-star review at 04:26 was followed by a 5-star review at 10:26 on the same day. This rapid response pattern is consistent across multiple instances and appears unnatural.#### Impact on Trustpilot’s CredibilityHostgator’s alleged manipulation of reviews threatens to erode the trust users place in Trustpilot as a reliable platform for authentic feedback. By flooding the system with potentially fake positive reviews, Hostgator not only misleads consumers but also diminishes the platform’s ability to provide a fair and transparent space for businesses and customers. If left unchecked, this behavior could damage Trustpilot’s reputation as a credible review aggregator, discouraging genuine users from relying on it.#### ConclusionThere is substantial evidence suggesting Hostgator manipulates its Trustpilot reviews by posting fake positive reviews, often shortly after negative ones, to maintain a high rating. This is supported by external reports, user feedback, and timeline anomalies in the provided data. Such practices undermine Trustpilot’s integrity and mislead consumers.#### RecommendationsWe strongly urge Trustpilot moderators to investigate Hostgator’s review practices to protect the platform’s credibility. Specifically, we request:- **IP Address Examination**: Check the IP addresses of reviewers posting 5-star reviews shortly after 1-star reviews to identify if they originate from the same or related sources, such as Hostgator employees or affiliates.- **Behavioral Analysis**: Investigate patterns of inappropriate behavior, such as rapid posting of positive reviews following negative ones, and verify the authenticity of accounts with minimal review history (e.g., 1 review) that overwhelmingly praise Hostgator.- **Broader Review Audit**: Cross-reference Hostgator’s review history with external reports of fake review practices to assess the scale of manipulation.

I’m extremely disappointed with Hostgator’s handling of my account suspension. My hosting account was permanently suspended on March 26, 2025, without prior warning or clear explanation. I immediately submitted a formal appeal and provided all requested documents, but after several days and multiple follow-up emails, I have received no meaningful response from their team. This situation has severely impacted my business, as I not only host my own websites but also client websites that are now completely inaccessible. These websites do NOT contain any gambling or prohibited content, yet Hostgator continues to delay any resolution. Some of my clients are now threatening legal action against me for service interruption and data loss. I have requested at least temporary access to back up the data, but even that has been ignored.Ticket ID: #225842I’ve trusted Hostgator for years, but this experience has been beyond frustrating and harmful. I hope no one else has to go through what I’m dealing with. Hostgator must take accountability and improve their support process drastically.
