I’ve been using Hostgator for a while, and overall, their server performance has been solid. The uptime and speed have been great for my website, and they offer competitive pricing. However, my experience with their customer support has been less than ideal.Recently, my account was suspended due to a chargeback, and while the issue was eventually resolved and my refund was processed, the bigger problem is that they still haven’t provided me with my backup. After the refund, I expected my account to be fully restored with all of my data intact, but despite multiple requests, I haven’t received any help in retrieving it.The biggest issue with Hostgator's support is the lack of resolution. While they are quick to respond to chats, the responses often don’t address the actual problem. It's more like a series of generic replies, leaving the problem unresolved.In short, while Hostgator's servers are great, their support leaves a lot to be desired, especially if you run into an issue like mine. If you're looking for a reliable host, I’d recommend them for performance, but just be cautious when it comes to customer service in case things go wrong.

My server has a virus and I am subscribed to the virus removal service, and my VPS was stopped because of the viruses. This is a failed company in every sense of the word. I was not informed to solve the problem. The server was stopped immediately without warning. This is not a company that cares about customers.

I have hosted a number of business websites for good money with Hostgator for a few years now. It is just getting worse and worse in every regard. Today, it was impossible to solve a simple Moodle installation, customer service kept me 1 hour in the loop, waiting and waiting, and still no working installation. I have installed it several times in the past myself without issues. No CPanel. UX gets more and more confusing, 60 percent is clutter. Last year, my websites were down, all of them, without any notification. When I noticed, it took forever to reach customer service and they claimed I had installed harmful software. I had YEARS ago, from the start, installed Cameo LMS, which is a normal LMS, and it had been there for years. But they didn't just take down the domain in question without explanation, but ALL my websites which was very harmful to my business. Customer service took very long to resolve this, over 1 full day, and was extremely rude, threatening me not to install illegal software or something along those lines. It was very hard to get in touch with them.Today, the bot gave 100% false replies, the live agent then just didn't reply at all, I waited, and waited, then another agent came on and each reply took 20 min. and still no resolution. So, I am leaving, thanks for the non service and this treatment of yearlong clients. I am also stuck with a domain I had never wanted, which had been at the start some kind of free gift, and suddenly I keep paying for it. I had also CANCELED auto renewal, monthly now, so I can leave when I want, and they still auto renewed it this month. Unbelievable, all of it. All is a mess, subdomain overview, folder overview, php overview, everything. In the beginning, they did have customer service, fast one, now ... a nightmare. Bot also not giving just false anwers, but also totally absurd ones, ignoring the facts I had given completely. Like a CS chat bot that is on the level of 5 years ago and has never been improved.

Pathetic service from Hostgator team i raised a ticket for my VPS hosting, but it was suspended without a prior alert for more than 30 hours no response from the team regarding my ticket nor did anyone reply to my mails.

I swapped to Hostgator 4 days ago and already planning to going back to Siteground despite it's more expensive. I've lost access to my account on a friday and asked for a recovery link, it turns out none works on the weekend and it can take up to 2 working days for a real human to reply. I've been without access to my new website for three days now and counting, all contact I get is wit their stupid Kodee AI. NOT RECOMMENDED!!

They shut your SEO sites down without reasonable warning, hurting your uptime and rankings. No host that does that is worth keeping if you have SEO and natural traffic. We are going to change to to a US based company. The Better Business Bureau tried to reach Hostgator on my behalf, and this was the BBB's response: "Unfortunately, we aren't able to pursue this complaint because the business in question, is located outside of the United States. The Delaware address is not a physical location for the business. It is against BBB policy to process complaints in an area of the world that we do not service. If you wish to further pursue this issue, you might contact a legal advisor, your credit card company or cyber crimes (httpsXXXXXXX). "

I have been with Hostgator for more than 2 years for hosting and recently for a domain registrar.The price is competitive and the service is quite good.Rarely do I have a problem but when I do tech support is quick to respond and help me resolve my problem.My only dislike is the menu interface although it is improving. They have the hPanel. I prefer the cPanel.

I have website hosted in Hostgator shared hosting. It uses php and mysql as db. It has multiple stored procedures in it. Suddenly it stopped working with all SPs disabled. I cant execute, edit even take backup of these SPs definitions. I approached the Hostgator support and for last 15 days they have just 1 reply that "Out team is looking into this. We will let you know through email" and now after 15 days they closed the ticket saying it is resolved but actually it is not resolved. Now they want me to create a new ticket. I have faced big loss due to them. They support is pathetic with no knowledge. I an telling them this is the issue and you need to perform this action to resolve this but all in vain.I have never seen such a pathetic support and service. These people are just FRAUD looting money.

I have emailed this company 5 to 6 times wanting to transfer my Domains and web hosting to them. Emailed Mr Benicio looking for instructions on how they were going to transfer my sites to their platform. Got no responses after he emailed me the link to their payment cart. Was happy to pay them agreed fees, for 4 year plan as agreed during my previous Zoom meeting after Mr Benicio promised they would look after both website transfers. I asked Mr Benicio in my email for a breakdown of what was included in their quote as it did not say on their payment CART what was included. Got no response todate from Mr Benicio. This same person said he would look after everything. Well he has done nothing so far plus not responded to any of my emails. It appears you can only communicate with this company via ZOOM calls. I am not even sure if this is the case. Dont pay this company unless you get a breakdown in full and in writing, of what they will do for the price agreed with them. So far I give this company a ZERO as they did not respond to any of my email requests since yesterday. I will be happy to take this back if they improve and respond to my emails and advise what steps i need to take to complete the transaction which they were selling me during my initial Zoom appointment. I was to get Free SSL Certs for 3 websites, email hosting and web hosting and they would transfer my sites to their servers. 50 GB and unlimited bandwidth. Looking forward to their response. Reviews that Cost me my Money! seem to positive for my taste, when ahead and transfer my domains to them, got a deal, bought some more, cancel the ones I did not want and was not offer the option to cancel. I made a payment for my hosting and they went a head and they illegally kept my other card on file and charged the other domains I no longer wanted. Because of their no return policy they cannot refund my money. They have no contact information for you to complaint to. Only a chatbot. Good Luck . I tried to find where these people were located. Where is - Lithuania- is it even real?
