My experience with Big Rock has been deeply unsatisfactory, particularly regarding their domain registration and validation process. After purchasing a domain, I expected the entire process to be handled by Big Rock, given their role as the provider. However, I was surprised to learn that critical steps were handed over to a third-party entity, which requested highly sensitive documents, such as:A valid passportDriver’s licenseNational ID cardIn addition to these, they also required proof of address through documents like a utility bill, bank statement, or phone bill.What makes this situation even worse is the fact that I was informed, after the purchase, that my organization name and address data could not be validated. Third-party entity's communication explained that they were unable to verify this data and that I had 30 days to submit the required documents or face domain suspension. This notice made it clear that as an accredited registrar, Big Rock must take steps to validate or correct this information—but I was never notified about this potential issue prior to the purchase.The lack of transparency around this process is highly concerning. Customers trust Big Rock to handle domain registrations directly and securely, but instead, third-party involvement is required, and personal information is demanded. This raises serious privacy concerns, especially regarding the security of sensitive data.I would have expected a well-known provider like Big Rock to manage all aspects of domain validation internally, without relying on external parties and requesting such intrusive documentation. Had I known this process would involve third parties, I would have reconsidered using their services altogether.In summary, I am disappointed with Big Rock's lack of clear communication and their over-reliance on external validation processes. Future customers should be aware of the privacy implications and potential complications before registering a domain with them.
