Keeps sending misleading marketing emails to try to get you to renew for canceled services. Emails show your services on auto renewal are canceling or says payment method outdated. When you click it tries to trick you to renew canceled items. After clicking around you realize everything is FINE and it was just a shady email sales tactic.

I talked to David the AM 4/7/25. My email client was displaying the New Outlook & I could not get to the emails on my domain. He explained that I did not have a domain license for Outlook.. He further indicated this was something that Microsoft required I have in place in addition to the Microsoft 365 subscription I already had. It would cost me $100.43 pro rated to my Namecheap email renewal date to obtain the license and would renew yearly at $250.00 (approximate # rounded).I will freely admit that I was somewhat panicked and authorized the charge. I was expecting some critical emails that I needed to respond to.I subsequently called Microsoft & talked to one of their support representatives. I explained the issue and he pointed out the button in the upper right hand corner of the Outlook screen that toggled the New Outlook to Classic Outlook. That corrected the issue & it was determined by Microsoft Namecheap's license was not required.I subsequently went to an on line chat and talked with with a Dishka requesting a refund. I explained I had a Microsoft subscription and did not need or want one from Namecheap as Microsoft had resolved the issue with the toggle button in the upper right corner of Outlook. She insisted my Microsoft office would not work with a work/school account from my Microsoft 365 Business subscription. I questioned her as to what had changed since it had been working fine until this AM.I had a very difficult time with her accent as I have a hearing loss. We went back & forth for over an hour with nothing being resolved. I asked if she would put me in touch with a US based support person. Short answer no. After spending close to an hour on chat, the message was; 'In order for me to get a refund, the emails must be deleted'.I subsequently backed up all *.ost, *.pst & *.nsf files so I could recover my information.I authorized the deletion of my email accounts & a refund was issued on 4/11/25.I subsequently transferred my domains & emails to another registrar.The wait time for telephone support is frequently in excess of an hour. Chat is not much better. In my opinion, the support people are not interested in helping you resolve an issue. They appear to be more concerned in selling you something that is really not necessary to fix the issue.I had been with Namecheap for some time. I was OK with the higher prices as long as I could receive a decent level of support when I needed it. In my opinion, this is no longer the case. For a small business like myself, I believe there are better & less expensive options than Namecheap.
