I completely forgot that I had enabled a second verification tool, which made it impossible to log back in later. I spent over four hours with support, talking to more than eight different agents, trying to get access.They told me I needed to fill out a 10-minute form, upload my ID, and jump through several other hoops, way over the top for a hosting provider. The frustrating part is that I still had a few subscriptions I wanted to cancel.After speaking with five different agents, I finally found someone who said they would cancel my subscriptions. But I kept getting charged anyway. At this point, I’ve given up and blocked all incoming transactions from Namecheap.Three months later, they’re still trying to charge me despite telling eight different support reps to cancel everything, despite the payments being declined every time. Namecheap might be decent for basic hosting, but their support completely falls apart when something doesn’t follow the usual script.I’ve switched to SiteGround. Whenever there's an issue, they actually fix it and apologize. Namecheap, I expected better. Shame.Update after response:I've dealt with a lot of different hosting providers over the past two years, I think I've actively used around 10. Security is always a priority, and I completely understand that. But requiring an ID upload just to log in if you don't have access to the phone number you submitted? I haven’t even seen that for more sensitive actions, like resetting the password on my government ID. It’s absolutely ridiculous.I hope we can resolve this now, but I'm skeptical, given that I’ve already tried multiple times. As of writing this email, I still haven't received any response from Namecheap.For whoever’s reading this: I’d recommend SiteGround. You might pay a bit more, but the extra service is absolutely worth it.

Would of put it 0 stars if I could, bought a box of plastic lures almost everyone was already fished with you can see teeth marks and old line still on the lures, when to use one and the tail of one of the lures fell off on the 3rd cast, I don’t care if the lures are tested or what they do with them they should not be used until the buyer pulls them out the box, to get this after listening to your coked up salesman’s for 10 minutes, I’ll be putting effort into making sure no one i know buys these horrible quality lures, go to the dollar store and buy them 2$ lures it’ll last u longer then these garbage blind rage bait lures

I have set up a domain name on Namecheap. then i want to upload my company content on to my website. They have a technical issue and have been fixing it for 3 days. All i was talking to tech support from the Philippines and India. Beside the language barrier, they keep stone walling me and gave me excuses.This is basic and rudimentary, allowing access to upload content of my web site

I’ve had an incredibly frustrating experience with Namecheap and can confidently say it's one of the worst hosting platforms I’ve encountered. I’ve been using Namecheap’s WordPress hosting, Microsoft email services, and domain registration for over two years. Suddenly, the renewal price for my hosting jumped from around 80 CAD to nearly 250 CAD — without any clear explanation.To make matters worse, the renewal was set to automatic, and they charged me for services even though I couldn’t access my website. My account was blocked, and I was left dealing with unhelpful customer service agents who lacked both technical knowledge and fluency in English, which only delayed the resolution further.I attempted to switch my hosting plan, but now I don’t even have access to my website backups. Apparently, they have a separate, confusing backup plan that requires a full year’s payment just to retrieve my files. It feels like they’re holding my domain and content hostage, and their customer support has been both unprofessional and rude in denying any responsibility.I would strongly advise against using Namecheap. My experience has been nothing short of a tragic disaster — overpriced services, poor communication, and a lack of transparency and support.

I paid for a hosting restore service from Namecheap on April 10, 2025, with receipt number 3589105879. After payment, I was informed that the service was no longer available due to my domain expiration months earlier, despite the fact that I wasn’t warned during the checkout process.Namecheap accepted my payment for a service they knew could no longer be fulfilled. When I requested a refund, they flatly refused, citing their 30-day refund policy, even though the service was never delivered in the first place.I was told that I should’ve contacted them before paying, which is unreasonable since there was no indication that restoration would be impossible at the time of purchase.I am now forced to file a chargeback with my bank to recover the funds. This has been an extremely frustrating experience, and I would advise anyone considering Namecheap’s services to be very cautious when paying for things without clear service availability warnings.Would not recommend.

Worst support experience – A full week with no solutionUnfortunately, I’m writing this review after an entire week of trying to regain access to my Namecheap account — with no success. The issue is simple: the two-factor authentication code does not reach my phone. I receive codes from other companies without any issues, so the problem is clearly on Namecheap’s end.I’ve contacted more than 7 support agents over the past week and provided every document they requested: my ID, a selfie holding the ID, company license — everything. Yet they continue to make the process unnecessarily difficult, with no real intention to resolve it.At this point, I can’t help but feel suspicious — it almost seems intentional, as if they are deliberately creating obstacles to block access. It raises serious concerns about whether domains are being locked or taken from customers under the guise of "security."As of now, my issue is still unresolved, and I’m left without access to my account or my domains. Extremely disappointing and unacceptable. I strongly advise against using Namecheap.

While they offer low initial prices, the value drops once the renewal rates kick in. Despite the low cost, some customers, including myself, have faced performance problems, especially with shared hosting and server issues.Overall, Namecheap may seem appealing at first, but the slow support, high renewal rates, and performance issues make it hard to recommend.
