I've been with Namecheap many years and during that time controversies keep happening and services keep disappearing or being charged for. SSL has become a chargable service (unless you want to manually re-install Lets Encrypt certificates every 3 months) - it's almost as much as Economy hosting - the "free" SSL is only for a year and almost everyone will sign up for longer because it seems to be better value... domain renewals are especially overpriced, and the "free" email was removed and is now Microsoft 356 which is expensive and a hassle for occasional e-mail, not to mention the lack of transparency and privacy at Microsoft.Up time is very good. Support is usually good. The inode limit is low and harsh and means that it just wasn't possible to get MediaWiki going because of the large number of tiny files for extensions. It doesn't seem great for wikis in general. The main draw seems to be budget websites with heavy upfront discounts, the only renewal deal I ever found was to pay in a different currency and over the years free features got removed before the renewal date so I ended up having to spend more elsewhere for email or going without SSL.SSH needs a manual request to turn on but works fine.Domain privacy protection is not free - unlike some companies especially in the UK which give UK customers free privacy as standard. No renewal energy offering is a major oversight. I found out I could switch to 100% renewable energy with free SSL, free email, free domain privacy, cheaper domain renewal and registration, great up time and support and still save money on hosting so it was a no brainier really. I would have switched earlier but was tied in via a 5 year plan. There's plenty of other big companies willing to offer more that are more forward-looking, have more ethics and are less problematic.

My Namecheap Steve went way and beyond by helping me with my email problem fir my business. He was so patient and professional and kind due that I am not a technical user. We work together and was able to resolve my problem, that I appreciated Steve time and support also being on a Saturday morning. But it didn’t matter!!! I Thanked Steve over and over. When one step didn’t work he found another Avenue to go to get the problem solved. I appreciate Namecheap having someone like Steve on staff for my other exchanged vendor had no one to help so I switched over to Namecheap where I being trying to get this problem solved for three days losing business where Namecheap with Steve in person on the phone solved my problem and reassured me he know what was needed to be done. Again, Thank you Steve and Namecheap!!

Jose was a great customer service rep. Today large companies use the plandemic excuse to give crappy customer service. Not Jose. He was great. The AI said the hold time would be nine minutes. That was false. I was on hold 45 minutes but Jose from Colombia was awesome from start to finish and solved all of my issues with a smile. I can tell when someone is smiling on the phone.

When I try to edit a WordPress page builder It shows 404 error, I contact with their customer support but they are saying there is an issue in your end. I try the same thing on other hosting, they were working fine. Namecheap customer is just a scam

Absolute terrible service- a shambles.Customer service non existent, lied to by agents and mis sold a domain. Get told by chat that they are having a delay, then cut me off for saying I’ve stepped away. This has been going on 3 days, cancelling all my products and going with someone else.

Namecheap had provided the platform for my website and landing pages and has provided my access to Microsoft’s applications and they have been an excellent service provider.Available 24/7 for customer service they have resolved my tech issues any time I need help and without long hold times. I highly recommend Namecheap!

If you have a good domain name and you let it lapse. Namecheap will snipe it up and sell it. They have held godsloveministry.com for over 20 years for sale for over $1000. As a domain register, they know down to the second that a domain on their service will become available. They have an entire section in their business dedicated to stealing websites. Gods Love Ministry was a thriving worldwide outreach that was destroyed by Namecheap. Such an evil company. To hold an outreach ministry of God hostage for 20 years clearly shows the work of Satan.

If there is no star I would put zero stars, setting my domain email is taking forever and the Namecheap customer service won't have a clue what they are talking about. Spent hours trying to fix it and still no luck. I really regret buying a Namecheap domain and I won't recommend it to any who want to start a website for a small business.
