As a small business owner, I rely heavily on Cyber Monday to boost our annual sales. Unfortunately, our choice of Namecheap as a hosting provider turned this key sales day into a nightmare. Early in the morning, our website crashed due to server issues on their end. What followed was a series of frustrating, futile interactions with their customer service team.First, reaching a representative was quick but useless. The lack of urgency was palpable. They initially told our site would be back up in 90 minutes. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, the best they could say was that one would call me back in 30-60 minutes. No supervisor called me back! I had to call customer service again and ask for a supervisor again. After a prolonged wait, I finally spoke to a supervisor who informed me that it might take up to 24 hours to restore the site, displaying a complete disconnect from the business impact of their downtime. Every hour offline is revenue lost, yet there was no sense of responsibility or attempt to expedite the resolution. The technical explanation was vague, until I was told that it should not have happened. It became increasingly clear that Namecheap's technical prowess was lacking when it mattered most. For a service that markets itself as reliable, their inability to handle peak time traffic is unacceptable. The overall experience was incredibly disheartening. Their customer service was unhelpful and uninformed, leaving me feeling unimportant. This isn’t just about poor service; it's about a significant loss of revenue and trust. Small businesses deserve better, especially when they stake their livelihood on peak sales days that are known well in advance.I strongly advise fellow small business owners to consider this experience. When choosing a hosting provider, think twice about Namecheap. Their lack of competence and disregard for their impact on your business could cost you much more than just a day of sales; it will cause reputational and brand damage. Don't get hosed like we did!!!

Mixed feelings. Namecheap is too hard-sell, and very good at taking money from those who are inexperienced in web and email hosting and don't perhaps know what they are purchasing. As a web developer, I wouldn't use them myself. Nevertheless, my recent experience with their DNS support on behalf of clients has been very good. Quick to respond and quick to deal with the issue.

The rep helped me to eventually figure out the problem on my own through a little further experimentation. The problem was with Dreamweaver which he is not familiar with, but his input was very helpful regardless. He certainly knew the relevant Namecheap information and had some good suggestions.

I never give a 100% but the tech support guy was very patient and helped me accomplish what was needed. Thanks

I was told I would receive a refund on 10/30. I also received a call confirming this. I never received the refund and spent over three hour trying to get this resolved only to be told that I was talking to the wrong person. Happy to leave a better review if this can be resolved. I received my refund. Thank you

The worst customer support experience I’ve ever encountered—unbelievable! It’s been over five days just to update my phone number, and there’s still no progress. I’ve been contacting support daily to resolve this issue, yet nothing has been done. Please address this matter promptly and consider improving the quality of your support team.

Got help with my contact business page. Now my customers can contact me with the correct email after nine long months of nothing. Thank you very much.

THIEVES. I had a domain registered with 123-REG - a Namecheap group company - but when I tried to move the domain to my own server, their website threw errors producing the transfer code. Several times I contacted tech support, and the issue continued. Eventually, they advised that no more could be done to assist, and I would have to wait for the domain to expire to re-register it. With no other option, I duly followed this advice, only to find that the domain had been IMMEDIATELY re-registered and was for sale - for an extortionate fee - on 'dan.com' another Namecheap brand. The domain is now for sale on Namecheap's own resale site.I tried to contact several Namecheap and 123-REG managers, only to be blanked.Register your domain with these unscrupulous people at your own risk.

Mixed. We had to migrate from their own email service to native Microsoft 365 and they were helpful for that and everything worked as it should. But...I have recently had an awful experience with their DNS support. The first-line chap I spoke to was polite but did not know the answer, so referred it to 2nd-line colleagues. His 2nd-line colleagues gave him an "answer" that made no technical sense and they gavce him a link to a page explaining how to do it correctly. We (the first line chap and I) read the article together and agreed that, actually, we HAVE done everything right. So, he went back to the 2nd line slopey-shouldered "fire and forget" muppets who simply said they've answered already (which they hadn't) and to go away. "Sorry, I can't help solve this and they [2nd line] have not given me any more help" was his closing statement. Conclusion: if it's a complex problem, you're on your own and they will cast you adrift. Suggest looking elsewhere.

There lack of knowledge on domain support is extremely frustrating and non existent when it comes to internal routing. There is no escalation procedure until you comply with all their rules which we did, but they refused to escalate so we are still no further forward. If you care to contact us that will be like winning the lottery !!!!!

Really simple to setup and create our own website. Some issues with the blog pages, some published blogs still show in the drafts and complicated to add an Instagram page, but that was mainly a Facebook setup problem. On the whole really simple to use.

I'm just opening an online business and my husband suggested I use them, I haven't even published my site yet and already it has been a nightmare doing business with these people, as soon as possible I will be going to another server.

This is the single worst domain registrar I have ever dealt with. Do not ever register your domain on Namecheap. There is no civilized, modern support, but only phone call center. To transfer your domain out of this terrible service provided you need to call their support by phone, because there's no email or chat support. And the support is really unresponsive, they were supposed to call me back, but I never heard from them. Avoid their services when possible!

Namecheap does a good job, and does make it easy to create a website. However, I don't like the way they bundle email and database functions. I think that the bundles are too expensive. The process of renewing feels too aggressive. That said, I like it more than the ad-supported models.

I purchased a Domain on the Lease to own Program at Dan.com in feb 24, I've been making the scheduled payments on time at the 1st of each month. then Namecheap purchased Dan.com and moved all our accounts to Namecheap, Well, this month, my sceduled payment was Paid on Dec 1st, then the next day on Dec 2nd, I got an email saying my next sceduled payment is going to be on Dec 7th, 24, I go into my account to verify, and that's what it says, So now I'm going to get double Billed twice in 1 week for my monthly payment, I contacted Customer Service via chat for 2 hours, nothing resolved or fixed, So I did the same thing this morning, Still no solution by customer service via chat. this Double billing in the same week is going to put me in the negative with my bank.

Easiest way to get your domains purchased. but the only thing is sometimes its hard to get some domains. they are asking for a broker fee. but that domain is not getting done. thats the only issue.

I have been with Namecheap for almost 2 decades. I have always defended their pricing and reliability because their customer service has always been excellent. I call, they pick up in a reasonable time and I talk with a very competent representative. Full Stop...Until Now. Admittedly I have not had to call them for years but I was running out of email space and I could not figure out how to delete on the server. I could locally on my outlook but not on the server. I was down to 500 MB so I called last evening. I was on hold for about 1.5 hours (having used the phone tree for email) when a rep picked up. I explained my simple request. Need to delete storage space. She said she had to transfer me to the email team. What? That is what I selected initially. Fine. What I didnt know is that I was sent back to the end of the line and no lie, I was on hold for another hour or more. Then I told the rep what I needed after he confirmed my identity and call back number. I needed to create storage space. He wanted a screen shot emailed to him. What? That doesnt make sense but ok..I sent him a screen shot showing I was almost out of space. Then I got put on hold and yes, you guessed it, I got disconnected. I then got a call back from Namecheap about 5 minutes later but no one was on the other line. I DID NOT get any help. Fortunately after searching endlessly, I figured out how to do it myself. Easy...but not if you dont know. I had to log into my account via the web (not through my outlook on my computer). I will be looking for another hosting company.

Trevor was very friendly and helpful. He also mentioned website products that can help my business.

Namecheap customer service helped me find an old email I wasn't using for 7 years and helped me set up a new one. Agent was caring, understanding & patient. They spent an hour and 27 minutes with me!
