One of the worst mistakes I made as a small business owner is setting up email, and web hosting with Namecheap. I started several years ago, and it was an extremely difficult transition moving away from Namecheap. The customer support level has dropped tremendously, while the product prices have increase tremendously. Run!

When I wanted access to the Authorization code of my domain (which is needed to transfer a domain from Namecheap to different Domain-Registrar) the website told me to call the customer support for that. Which is a way of making it hard for the customer to leave Namecheap.During a call (after waiting approx. 10 minutes) I was told that for my special kind of domain (it was a .de domain, so not that special) it would take up to 5 days for me to receive an email with the code.The worst thing is that there is another way to get that code through a csv download of information about your domain. When asking the support they told me, they did not know about that way and that it would be a wrong Authorization code. But it was not, it worked correctly and I was able to get away from Namecheap. This is an evil design to get the customer to give up trying to cancel the domain.
