Namecheap listed a domain I wanted as available (for a very reasonable $0.01). At the point of checkout, the payment failed. Upon refreshing, it stated the domain was now unavailable.After checking on the who.is database, I can see that a subsidiary of Namecheap: "Domains By Proxy, LLC" was listed as the point of contact for the registrar - you guessed it - Namecheap themselves.The cost of the domain is now listed at a far less reasonable $2,500.This is an exceptionally unethical practice from this company.Avoid Namecheap - use more ethical websites such as NameCheap!

Called through to try and change my web hosting and email to a low plan as I need the most basic features as I barely use them.100+ minute call with a consultant who charged me for two brand new plans. Basic Economy Hosting and Outlook 365.I honestly don't know what that consultant did but charge me for 2 products I didn't need.Namecheap's online chat glitches out and stops working, tried on multiple browsers: PC, mobile and ipad all the same.Called again, waited 20 minutes to speak to someone who had to authenticate me again (although I did it prior to waiting in hold), they then immediately transferred me to the sales department which had a 40 min wait.Hung up and called again finally got through to someone competent enough to explain what was happening and refund me, her name was Paola/Paula?
