My business is being hijacked by Namecheap.com so they can charge a premium for a domain name they have no interest in. To be clear, Cybersquatting and front-running are both Deceptive practices used to extort premium amounts of money for a domain name that you otherwise have no interest in. That's what I meant.

Someone came up with the idea that I have to verify myself through my email to access my email... I don`t have access to my back up email also, as that was a free gmail email. Try and contact support at Namecheap... the support button has been gone for years now!

I did not wait long for a response. Erikson was very understanding and his clarification of my misunderstanding was greatly appreciated.

BEWARE of this company and its promises. They take your money (over £3,200 in my case) with promises to build a website in around 6 weeks. They made consistent errors, lost all my information, so I had to submit it again, used £ and € signs inconsistently throughout the website and when this was all drawn to their attention failed to correct the errors. I sent numerous revisions, which were never corrected, they failed to use the images I wanted, so that images did not align and bore no relation to the content. They did make some revisions correctly, but changed revisions already agreed - so that they were wrong and had to be revised again. They wasted around 6 months trying to get things correct and complete.I eventually said ‘enough is enough’ and asked for a refund.I had lost months of potential business during this debacle. We tried to contact them by phone, but found this almost impossible spending hours phoning and being either unable to get through or fobbed off.We did eventually speak to a customer service advisor after contacting him by email, he called me back.He told me I could only have £1,500 of my money back -I refused saying in no uncertain terms I wanted a FULL refund as they had taken my money, wasted my time and not provided me with ANYTHING. They then shut everything down so that I no longer had access to the website build platform. So basically they took over £3,200 messed me about for 6 months, shut me out and refused a refund.Luckily I had paid by credit card and put this into the hands of their fraud department. My credit card company fraud department told me that this company is known to them, and they had many dealings with them of the same nature. The chargeback department of my credit card company took on my case and obtained a full refund in January this year, thank goodness!AVOID this company!!! DO NOT give them any money.

Reply to Namecheap: contact me: jk,privat at icloud dot com. I've sent 2 emails to the Circuit Team but no reply.I transferred a domain from Namecheap to Bluehost, which was first stopped by Namecheap and I had to go back, contact them again to resolve it. The domain is now showing as Active on Bluehost. But Namecheap is also showing it as 'Active' because it failed to inform Nameservers to update to Bluehost. Namecheap's Chat function on my account site is Empty - no button or any other means to contact chat and the phone number listed in the UK creates a message that the number is not functional. Very poor everything in my experience with Namecheap.

Namecheap -Worst company and customer service for any business. They misrepresent the service will provide - once payment been made deliver substandard service. Then have to be calling spending several hours on the phone to resolve the issue/get a refund. It impacted my business in terms of time wastage as I could have instructed another agency who are competent and have the expertise in the field of (SEO and marketing) and can most importantly communicate effectively in English which most of Namecheap staff cannot do. The staff at Namecheap are a bunch novices no expertise - some are very rude have zero customer care skills and difficult to understand because English seem to be an immense barrier - posing more problems for ones business. Each time attempted to use their service been a complete failure. They have not assisted to grow my business at all and I would never RECOMMEND Namecheap to any business. Can you first of all REFUND our money as the service was never delivered. ITS pure theft. PLEASE businesses keep away from Namecheap - their dishonest and mispresent their service so your lured to making payment, service delivery is substandard

I put up a new website and needed hosting which was on a temporary 1 year basic plan. On a call they sorted out a longer 3 year plan but didn't associate the plan with the website which had been on a temporary shorter (one year) plan. At the end of the one year they told me to renew or lose the website and I then found out that they had not put the website on the 3 year plan meaning I had 2 plan and the more expensive (£400) one was not being used, I had literally paid for air which is not what I was told. I was then tole I needed to renew the initial plan or lose the website and they would contact about refunding the amount. The overseas CS who I spoke to today denied this and insisted theres no refund after 30 days, even though it was their mistake and they billed me for two plans on one website, meaning one has not been used or touched. This is a shame as with my previous website things had been quite straight forward. The money is much less important than the principal unfortunately. I have two ventures reliant on the websites and now that I'm trapped in the ecosystem they seem to do what they like. I know if they called me from the UK team it would be sorted but they seem unwilling to do so unfortunately.Edit: 27/03 2025 as you can see below they stated they would reach out but have not!

Update on 17 March:During the call with Tom, he acknowledged the issues and proceeded with the full refund for me. Thanks, Tom! But there is still no answer to why the business is operating that way. I feel bad for the employees but I don't change my recommendation! -----Namecheap’s business practices are deceptive, and I strongly advise against using their services. Here’s what happened to me:They pressured me into purchasing a yearly plan under false pretences. On January 17, 2025, I wanted to build an official website for my domain X.com. Support assured me my draft site (X5.Namecheapsites.com) would automatically merge into my main domain within 24 hours. They also explicitly promised a 30-day full refund before processing the charge on my behalf (CA$188.03). (X=my domain name)They double-charged me for the same service. Despite the assurance that my draft site would merge, I was billed again on January 24, 2025 (CA$161.15) for a separate renewal on X5.Namecheapsites.com. This was never authorized. They changed their refund policy after my purchase and refused to honour their agent’s commitment. When I requested a refund on February 5, they claimed the refund window was only 7 days, even though their policy was only updated on January 25—after my purchase. They are now applying this retroactively, disregarding the 30-day guarantee they gave me when pressuring the sale. They keep stalling and making excuses. I followed up multiple times (February 5, February 24, and today 12 March), and every time, they either repeated the false 7-day refund policy then after a full explanation they asked me to wait again. No one takes responsibility, and they refuse to check previous conversations where their agent committed.Up to today, my website has never been updated, the service got cancelled on 5 Feb after my complaint, and no refund has been made. This company operates on bait-and-switch tactics, pressures customers into purchases, and retroactively changes policies to deny refunds. If you value transparency and customer trust, stay away from Namecheap.——Hi Tom!—- I bought 4 services with you guys, domain, email, website and marketing. This is the matter of broken trust and violate service. Until now my website hasn’t been never updated. The service has terminated on 5Feb when I complained. And no one be able to answer all the points I raised. Regardless my detailed information and proof. Just now, I’ve received this auto response from your team “ Hello,Thank you for submitting this request, after reviewing the information you provided, we are unable to approve this out of policy refund request. Please review our Legal Agreements found at the bottom of our website.Thanks”—- And this was my responseHi,Can you explain why? 1. Did you check what you staff committed me on the chat log of 17 Jan?2. Why you double charge me twice?3. Why did you terminate the service on 5feb after I complaint and submitted a refund request and now you didn’t refund my money?Response me point by point on my request, checked your message log!Don’t be a scam! Thanks!

I have always been a huge Namecheap supporter. I have been with them for a long long time. And I’m still not sure if it’s a Namecheap problem or a Microsoft problem but I run a business and it is hampered my ability to use my email on my phone. I would like for Namecheap to be more aggressive in resolving a problem with Microsoft instead of 10+ days. All in all, I am still a Namecheap supporter and would recommend them to anyone.

Its the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. No one can help with the issue, can't ever talk to someone that can solve a problem. There are other companies out there, don't use Namecheap.

They add AI features without your consent that break your website security and reset your purchase plans, and you have to manually rebuild your website to correct their mistakes.Get your domain somewhere they wont auto-add horrible features and charge you for services you already paid for.
