Ive been a customer for 15+ years and while the service is very professional and complete, there seems to be a dark side. I have about 20 URLs and I have lost two URLs now (to existing businesses!) over the last 3 years. They were auctioned off without my knowing. While they claim a notice was sent, I have no record. Two URLs for two ongoing businesses have essential been transferred. Trying to get the url for my existing business back now. Will move any URLs of value away from their control now.

I’m extremely disappointed with Namecheap’s practices. I missed renewing a domain I had been using for my small business, and instead of giving me a fair chance to reclaim it, they listed it under their Premium Category at a high price, when I originally bought it for 11$. What’s worse is that they’re using the value I built with my business to justify the premium price. It feels like they’re profiting off my hard work and dedication. I received a renewal reminder, but after the grace period, they quickly turned my domain into a money-making opportunity for themselves. This is unfair and unethical. Small business owners like me rely on these domains, and Namecheap’s actions make it feel like they don’t care about their customers. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone who values fair treatment.
